It is so cool, to just open a terminal and really be in Linux.
And I have root on this machine! π€©
Only ever used work stuff or my husband's stuff, so this is my first very own PC. Exciting.

Better be careful with the root access...
I actually know how to use computers, you know. I've just never had the opportunity.
I know that you know. Still it is tempting.
Sudo is enough for the most cases though.
The only time I've used root was to set up new users on our project's remote server, and then I gave nostr:npub1ecdlntvjzexlyfale2egzvvncc8tgqsaxkl5hw7xlgjv2cxs705s9qs735 root access and backed away, slowly.
Nobody died. π€£
Yes that's a case for root.
Now it's relax on sudo time. Better still a live usb for surfing. Vm also
Not likely she'll rm -rf / by accident. π€£
I hope you don't use it for OnlyFans

One down.
Here we go π

Anytime my computer starts talking shit because I forgot sudo
Bruh, install "bash-insulter"!
Everyone needs to do this at least once
π Didn't hear about that one...
So funny/sad how easy it is to forget sudo π like on nmap, why isnt this workingggg like i want it to?? Then remember and feel dumb, every. single. time.
It's kind of like me forgetting a semicolon when working on a database. π Been doing this for a while now, and I still every now and then will forget a semicolon and get annoyed as to why my query's not working.
Iβm technically retarded but love my computer running Linux.
I keep saying ima work on learning more about Linux but Iβm so bogged down in hamm radio not sure when/if Iβll ever get there.
I should scale back my earlier suggestion.
Try installing neofetch and then edit your terminal's config to launch the application each time you start it π You can of course undo this if you prefer. It's a good minor exercise for a beginner.
It is already installed. Added it to the config. Works. π
Just setup SSH and the firewall.

cmatrix is a bit more fun than neofetch. π
Get comfortable with documentation.
The first step is man pages.
Try 'man neofetch' or 'man cmatrix' (once installed) and then try some custom commands.
