I don't agree. To use a crass Americanism, you "give a shit" generally. Even if that is only about things in your sphere.
I could never buy into individualism because I give a shit. Right is right. It should be everywhere. Doesn't matter if that is uncomfortable or inconvenient (it almost always is).
