I've already happily sold katahdin breeding stock to Bitcoiners for Bitcoin and will happily sell more. Our flock is starting to qualify for registration as well if that's something that anyone is interested in.

What does registration mean?

Sorry if this is a dumb question in advance.

The modern day version of breed books. You can register animals "pure" (purebred) to the traits deemed desirable to a specific breed characteristic based on the rules and regs that govern a specific breed registration. Some are "closed" registration while others are "open". The difference being in open after X generations of breeding with a purebred those crossed genetics can become what is considered purebred. With closed registrations you must have two parents that are registered. Period. No "breeding up".

Some producers view registration as desirable, but it doesn't guarantee the best genetics.

Probably more than you asked for 🤷

We have registered stock too, so my comment at the end shouldn't be viewed in any critical light towards rev. It's just a fact. Black market producers don't care about governance so they could easily produce superior stock over animals with paper. This is often how new breeds end up forming.

Personally, I think black market genetics will be in higher demand in the future over registered livestock, which can more easily become "KYC livestock"

I appreciate the thorough response thank you very much!
