40 4x10 beds compost over top of cardboard. The compost is rich and everything grows amazingly in it.
I will be done for my season as Frost is in the next few weeks
Any biochar or extra amendments other than compost? And what does ur compost consist of
Nothing yet, compost came from city yard waste collection. It’s sterile when it lands. We will be doing our own compost, as of right now we are don’t have much plant material but will have robust compost & plans for a compost toilet this fall.
Definitely set up your own 3x3 foot compost made of grass and leaves and then your kitchen scraps too. Never know forsure whats in that city compost. Go to local produce shop/cafes too and ask for their green bin for free.
Oh yeah, i just need like 100 yards to start then it’s regeneration time. The house has its first batch of compost (i have 2 “pallet” bins constructed) coming out I will get 2-5yards a year moving forward for there.
I have access to wood chips which will be very good in 5-10 yrs time
Are you planning on making biochar with all that wood?
