BIP110 to reduce arbitrary data and Cat the spam dust for the win ✌️

I’m not on board with the Cat. Mainly because I don’t believe any changes should be made without maintaining the possibility that at any given point in Bitcoin’s evolution we should be ready and able to ossify. We all agree that Bitcoin is going to the moon. Some are more bullish about what that means than others. Personally I believe that Bitcoin will 1,000x in my lifetime. That means 1 sat = $1. If this Cat softfork happens, then people would not be able to transact Bitcoin under $1k value. Maybe the creator of Cat is more bearish about Bitcoin’s potential or maybe their intention is to require another softfork later on to remove the 1,000 sats limit once the value of Bitcoin moves up beyond a certain threshold. Either way, one man’s dust today is another man’s DCA tomorrow and we should always be prepared to ossify as is.
The Cat softfork is in ongoing discussion. All viewpoints are considered but I like the idea to rug the spammers using their own tools of abuse.
