You can ask it yourself about the sources, if you connect to the API. But LLMs dont do well with sources and references unless they are in a RAG setting.
I dont do scientific reference related fine tuning. It may just tell you about sources coming from their existing knowledge that was done by base model trainer, in this case Llama 3.0.
How could you know then, that those answers are based on scientific papers, and not just web scraping of some internet forums with ‚trust me dude’ sources?
Science was already added to it but of course there are science supported by big harma and big ag and big finance, which doesnt liberate humans. Unfortunately we cant rely on science only. We have to get the opinions of those dudes.
