The stories about people losing their lives on Everest and K2 fascinate me. I know no one goes up expecting to die, but it's a real possibility with every ascent. What drives people to do this sort of thing? I can't imagine it.
More than 340 climbers have lost their lives attempting to summit Mount Everest, and an estimated 200+ bodies remain on the mountain. Harsh weather, treacherous terrain, and high-altitude risks make recovery efforts extremely difficult.

I think there is little left for our internal spirit to conquer something great. Our world becomes easier and easier and there's little left that others have not done or something worth doing. 2 cents.
