The GetBlockSubsidy function is executed by all nodes in the #Bitcoin network every time they receive a block from a miner.

They do it to make sure the miner does not claim more BTC than the subsidy corresponding to the current block height.

By doing this, the network ensures that no more than 21 million BTC can be issued.
