So if government forced us to grow a cotton crop, everyone would recognize we are salves to government.

But since we get to pick the job we do for those five months, we aren't slaves?

Bonus fact: It's only the currency that tricks us into not noticing that we're slaves. They no longer take our labor, they just take the product of our labor, after the fact.
