Where do you stand?

OP_CAT was a #Bitcoin script operation for concatenating data strings, adding flexibility for more complex smart contracts.

It was removed by Satoshi in 2010 due to vulnerabilities, including risks of DDoS attacks and misuse for inefficient or malicious scripts.

A new Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) suggests reintroducing OP_CAT to the Bitcoin code with a soft fork.

Will it offer essential functionality for Bitcoin scaling and adoption, or is it just a sloppy foolish shortcut for developers seeking overnight results? Should it be approved?

I am against the return of OP_CAT as De-fi, in my opinion, should not be executed on the base layer to avoid malicious scripting and blockchain bloat. L2 and sidechains are more than enough to safely scale the functionality of the #bitcoin network.
