I get so frustrated when I'm looking at patterns and there isn't a single picture of the thing by itself or at least a closeup of the thing being worn. I don't need an artistic shot of you on a bridge where I can't even see the thing I'm buying the pattern for ๐ก๐ก๐ก. I have few things that make me rage, this is one. Take a product photo of the product, not yourself...unless you are the product. Okay, I'm done ranting.

It's the worst!
๐ซ so glad it's not just me
Not in the least! My mom was a huge crocheter, and she had so many patterns where the pic was either tiny and horrible, or nonexistent. I try to just skip anything on Ravelry that lacks a pic.
๐ that's what I was scrolling, it's my mindless zone out thing I do. The worst part is I love the designer (Andrea Mowry) but all of her recent patterns for shawls are full body shots with one sort of closeup of it bunched up. Her older ones which there were a couple down the page were nice closeups of the things.
Rant away! I hear ya. It is so stupid and annoying. Do you want to sell it or not? Then show me what Iโm buying!
Yes!
Don't they often have the Mega-zoom ad you hover feature on most sites these days? Guessing not, in which case I share your anger now
Lol, my gripe is more that there isnt a good picture of the thing flat so you can see the shape and any detail work that's in the piece that the pattern is for. If it's a free pattern, I get it and I don't mind. I'll see where it goes ๐. The one that got me raging is a popular designer and her husband is a photographer, so it feels like she's getting popular photographer technique pics instead of great product shots. Thank you for your anger solidarity ๐ซ
