We have community fisheries here that are stocked with hatchery fish. They can be fun, but are often crowded. Many of the reservors around me have a day use fee and I don't like it either, but there are fewer people.

I have actually considered just paying to go in and read a book, with no fishing equipment, cos it's guaranteed to be peaceful and almost empty.
