Rugged Flinders Island, in Bass strait between Victoria and Tasmania. Sailing in these waters is challenging due to the strong tidal flows and unpredictable weather patterns. The boat can only sail at around 4-5 knots, and the currents can flow at up to 5 knots, so you really need to work with the tides.

We got caught out in some rough weather where I had to leave Heart of Gold on a mooring for a couple of days until the system passed. Needless to say there were a few sleepless nights spent worrying about the boat and the upcoming passage to mainland Tassie 🌬️⛵️
