Got a new phone, it was so fast, untill I loaded it up with apps...

Now it's basically as slow as the old one

This is the pixel 7?

Yep.

I'm being a little cheeky it's definitely faster but once apps are loaded up you can notice the drop in speed.

Running this one too. A little low on RAM and cpu is the same as last year's...

Not good.

OnePlus was my favorite in terms of how the performance felt... but with two kids the camera is just too good on the pixel

I came from a Pixel 3, so I noticed. Waiting for the 9 now.

Programmed Obsolescence at its best πŸ₯²

It's actually the removal of the cellophane screen wrapper that triggers this.

Never had that problem with an iPhone.

But is it running GrapheneOS?

Undecided on it. Been on Graphene for 2 years gonna see if I can run stock Android with all burner info

You got to expect a google bloatware spyphone gonna run like a old dog

New Graphene with sandboxed Google Play is a nice upgrade from old Grapheme

Something about degoogling then running sandboxed play feels self defeating to me

For sure. You can do it in a second user profile that you only load if needed, so if there is an app that needs GSF that you can not live without you don't have to. Installing a esim for exqmple is one such use case

Sandboxed Google is the only way to go! Google apps run fine on GrapheneOS, no reason to just give up and let Google log your keystrokes!

Not worth it, I just did that on Android 14 DP2! I just left GrapheneOS to test it out and came right back! GrapheneOS is just the best, sandbox comes in clutch! I stay on the beta version of GOS and its butter smooth!
