Truth is most films are trash. Modern times or before doesn’t matter. There’s a 10-20% of movies that are really good. Woke times don’t matter
True. But there were some years that had all bangers at the theaters. Mid to late 90's, mostly. Now it's all trash, one has to pick a movie carefully beforehand to have a good experience.

In any field, not just movies, there are always a small number of actors, directors, athletes, researchers, etc who dominate the field. They stand out and represent the time period while the rest of the trash in the field is forgotten.
100% I was gonna say same for literature, maths, everything. There aren’t just 3-4 guys in a given field. But there’s 3-4 guys we remember in said field
