For a very long time, Chinese women were deemed worth living only for their abilities to provide children for their husbands' families.

A bit of an unfair statement. Chinese culture is rich and full of stories of many wise women.

What r u talking about?

I didn't say the women didn't have value, but the culture used that standard.

A culture that even had goddesses. The record of history has been distorted.

How is this related to my statement?

This thought popped in my head upon waking up this morning.

It answered the question why I was so bothered by this person's note the other day, where he insisted that the most valuable thing a woman can do is to have children.

Usually, I don't let random internet people bother me, but now I understand why. #GenerationalTrauma

Moral of the story:

Most blanket statements like that just makes the person look foolish.

A man can try saying that to a woman from Shanghai and will get his ass kicked over and over even after he is dead. 😆 🤣 😂

I don't think any of what you said so far makes my original statement of fact false.

Your understanding of Chinese culture is not going back far enough.

So now you're telling me what I know or do not know.

You are Gaslighting.

No need to denigrate an entire culture.

Really?

You are going to use that cheap technique to make my statement invalid??

And why do you think by saying what I said is denigrating the culture?

You're reading it with your presumptions.
