reminds me of an advice from some ( probably Jewish ) expert on ( obviously Jewish ) television - he said the secret to happy life is to get married and cheat.
i always struggled with that but i think he may have been right.
you want a boring, stable wife and exciting mistresses.
what i didn't realize back then is your wife will look the other way if you're a good husband.
a wife will overlook almost anything if you pay the bills and she has no other options and odds are she will hit the wall so fast she won't.
people need to maintain appearances. a woman that is divorced is seen as a failure - this is probably why my mother never divorced my sadist Jew husband - because she may know what he is, and i may know, but to most people outside she has a perfect marriage that has lasted 50 years so far. nobody knows that she is married to a sadist who has tortured her children while she looked the other way. she is a perfectly respectable member of society and intends to keep it that way.
it is easier for my mother to tell the family ( to whom i do not speak ) that i have mental health issues and that's why i do not speak to my father or to them than to say yeah actually my husband is a demon and i looked the other way my whole life because i didn't want to be seen as a failure for getting divorced.
likewise if you have a family that is respectable from the outside and your wife finds out you are cheating with some younger woman she will have to do the math - what is more economically beneficial for her - to divorce rape you or to have you continue paying the bills.
in case of Jeff Bezos and his wife the choice was easy - divorce. they had no prenup and divorcing him she became the richest woman in the world.
but Trump has said " you gotta have a prenup " which is why his women never leave him no matter how much he cheats. because there is no money for them in leaving him, and they quite enjoy being married to somebody who is always the center of attention.
and the fact that he cheats doesn't really reflect negatively on them - only adds to his reputation as a hot shot.
