Not everyone advocating for content "moderation", which sounds benign, understands that.
Altough, those who do and continue are evil, the silent uninformed/believing majority usually decides at the poll 😐.

Indeed.
I'm of the opinion that people don't challenge their believes/thinking because it will show plainly the cognitive dissonance, which they can't mentally handle... Their ego protects them from it by adopting "Stockholm syndrom" behavour. Hence, so many are sheep but make them believe they are wolfs.
could also be a lazy shortcut to not examine the possible incentives at play
