This shouldn’t be a big issue since media hosting is separate from relays and some already comply with the laws by removing and reporting.

Even less risk risk if you use something like AWS for media.

Personally I don’t think media needs the same level of censorship resistance but some people do. nostr:note1fuwm5lhrvcyaxzvr36a6d0ywqy3eew7hjfyghsauwg5r4q78rxmqh7r7wp

Also, isn’t the tech for media censorship something like BitTorrent?

We have blobs now and you can have some data redundancy across multiple servers. I don’t know the technical aspects of it though

There is, and uncensored discovery is solved by nostr, but It's value will only grow with adoption, right now it's only good for piracy (which is something), maybe things change.

Sure. Do Nostr clients integrate with BitTorrent so people can more easily access such media? I think the issue is that some people want everything baked into Nostr, which probably won't end up happening and perhaps shouldn't if one values decentralization.

text is fine on nostr, decentralized and censorship resistant and getting more powerful by the day, but ya.. media is another thing.

Images, and more so videos, is a very hard kraken to apply the same benefits.

AWS is nice, and less likely to get videos censored over there than youtube for example, but still a gov can hit them up and say "remove x video, they're mean to us".

I have no clue how to even think of a solution to this, honestly, for images, videos, and large files.
