Why would the government be expected to replace wages from these lost jobs? Shouldn’t it be the corporations who shoulder the responsibility for supporting their displaced workers, who are after all, people supporting other people? This is so wrongheaded, it just makes me cringe.

Worker support: Biden ordered a report on how AI could disrupt the labor market, and ways the gov’t could support people who lose their jobs to the tech. A Goldman Sachs report estimated that AI could eventually fill 300M full-time roles worldwide. ~Robinhood Snacks Newsletter.

I agree with you, but people like Biden see "the government" as the great end-all, be-all. It is their god. It should and will take care of everyone and everything, as they see it. Just give it more money.

That is exactly why we the people need to make a concerted effort to remove Biden and people like him from our government. I wish we could just clean slate the whole mess.

By "clean slate the whole mess" do you mean get better people, or a different system altogether?

I think both. We need our politicians to be a class of abrogation, servants of the people with open book lifestyles and finances. We need a system of government that facilitates economics as a tenant, because ultimately these are the fundamental premises that govern our society. Regulation cannot usurp natural law. Use incentives and taxation to promote and retard the growth of any social behavior. Keep laws and regulations simple and to an absolute minimum. These things for starters. I’m just a blue collar simpleton. Avarice is the only plausible explanation for why the people involved in our governments preserve the system as it is IMO.
