It's absolutely right, in fact lighter the roast more benefits you get from your cup, but in other hand it could damage the taste. Darker the roast more you can disguise the presence of bad beans. The reality is that balance is key, better your beans lighter the roast, and your tolerance for acidity will tell you how light you go.

As an example for daily coffee i prefer the city roast, for cold brew something in between light roast and american, coffee darker than full city I'll never come close ☕💜🫂
