What kind of rabbits are you raising? Meat rabbits?
I'm in Wyoming and looking for a Californian or New Zealand Doe. I have a Doe & Buck Giant Chinchilla, but am looking for rabbits that aren't quite as cute or friendly. We've hunted and raised chickens (had to get rid of them due to lung sensitivity that made me unable to breathe), so decided to raise rabbits. My first litter is nearing butchering age, but they are the cutest, friendliest creatures and both my husband and I are going to have a harder time killing these rabbits than anything else we've eaten.
Hey sorry im still learning how nostr works so didnt see your comment im raising silver fox rabbit i love them they grow fast and there tasty i supplement there pellets with lawn clippings where in Wyoming our you guys i actually have some kits available if your looking to get started with them!
There so easy to butcher humanely i havent raised new zealands only the silvers there comparable in size as there both a meat breed theres plenty of tutorials online on how to butcher them also ill be butchering some in a few weeks i might make a video on how to humanely dispatch them
It isn't knowing how. It is that our rabbits are sweeter, cuter, and cudlier than anything we've butchered before. We had zero issue with chickens. We've hunted and field dressed deer and elk. Somehow rabbits feel different.
