What kind of kWh do you need to make mining worth it?

I don't mine.

We all need power. I think mining with your excess power is logical. I think building a PV array exclusively to mine with solar isn't.

Yeah that’s what I’m looking to do. I have solar/battery. Trying to work out if it’s cheaper to mine with excess solar energy or sell to grid and buy btc.

I think you need to factor in the non economic benefits into mining decisions too.

It's a pretty personnel decision.

Fair point. Pointing hashrate is more than about sats. It’s network security.

I was thinking more along the lines of KYC free sats, incidental heating/drying and/or education/knowledge.

I'm not much of an altruist.
