Has anyone tried Movim? https://github.com/movim/movim

Chat and social on XMPP. Works with some of the best chat server tech in history (ejabberd, prosody, etc).

XMPP rocks honestly.

I haven't actually tried it, but did some research into Movim a while back.

Are you using it? Or thinking about using it?

Just thinking about it. I’ve watched the development over the years and been very impressed. I think it makes total sense to just build on XMPP bc it has some of the most mature and performant open source servers ever made
