I often go on daddy dates with my kids, each in turn, and my oldest daughter often fights about what she wears. While the fight is more around getting out of wearing dresses, I can imagine that one day it will have to do with modesty. My rule on the daily is, "If you'd feel weird going out with dad in that, then change." Or "If dad feels uncomfortable taking you out looking like that, change." This way, both individuals are honored.
