I am not sure how I feel about the ETF’s yet. Not a black and white issue.

I will say owning an etf is no different than owning bitcoin on coinbase as far as I’m concerned. I don’t think in either case you own bitcoin. Maybe I’m conflating ownership with self custody.

Unless it's on fidelity or Gemini, owning an ETF is "owning" Bitcoin on coinbase... Except you can't send it to another Bitcoin address, withdrawal to cold storage, etc.

It's a degraded coinbase experience that can go in a 401k

Are you excluding fidelity from that because they take self custody of their bitcoin? Do they have their address for the public or nah? That level of transparency seems like it would serve the community.

All of them use Coinbase custody besides fidelity and whoever uses gemini. Not sure about public address but I believe "proof of reserves" is standard but maybe not 🤷 I've never looked
