The first phone I got was one of those tiny Sony Ericsson phones. I didn't get a cell phone until I was around 20 years old, pagers were considered cool when I was in high school lol.

I remember bringing my moms BROKEN pager to school in 4th grade

The early ones were kinda dumb unless you had an on call job, but the ones that introduced text messaging were super cool in the 90's.
