I think a lot of us would be interested in a very clean, sleek, efficient, secure Android or web client, that runs very efficiently on cheap smartphones, e-readers, etc. and that deals well with intermittent Internet and electricity.
People in poorer countries can focus on a different, much-larger market: poor people. And there are poor people in rich countries, too!
Things that require software engineering skills, rather than VC money, but that have a ginormous potential userbase.
