Since when did Bud Light become beer? Perhaps the real motivator of the reaction has been how the fake woman repping the product shines light on the fact that it’s fake beer.

I think it's less about the erzat woman and more about the real one that clearly hates the customer bases. "Bratty and frat-y."

Erzats move with impunity in the world. They represent other products that haven't tanked, but also didn't express such distain for the base. Unless you think replacing women with effeminate men is hateful, especially in commercials for exclusively women's products. (And perhaps it is...)

The company cannot apologize for their popular spokesman, but they can fire the cis-straight junior executive that hates their customer and her specific offense. For that they could.

Most of all, it's not about the fake beer. Until recently only Milwaukee's best was worse. (Of course, what do I know I haven't had a sip in ~30 years. Does MB even exist anymore?) Whatever Bud Light is/was they were popular and shot themselves right in the proverbial foot.

Whatever it is, it's not moral outrage, and perhaps it should be.
