Waterpik is great if you have braces, a lot of crowns/bridges or spaces between your teeth where food gets trapped but it doesn’t replace floss. You need the string floss to get between the tooth and gums in the pocket to reduce the bacteria that causes inflammation and gum disease.

ok so if flossing then not really necessary to waterpik, correct? its sounding like the ideal routine is floss, brush, rinse. is that right?

Correct. Nothing touches your mouth after the rinse if you are using a fluoride version since fluoride is water soluble.
