I think it would be fine if repost was possible only once.
Multiple repost ability + having it shown on the main feed is the thing

i’ve found it confusing tbh.
you can repost a note infinite amount of times, but it won’t be covered in the numbers nor displayed anywhere
people can always quote post it, if they find it necessary

What do y’all think of a re-post time our/countdown timer - where after e.g. one (1) week re-posts of a given note are allowed again?
i don’t see too much of a use case for it over just quoting someone’s post instead in that time span
Timer countdown might be more complicated than necessary; I always lean toward “whichever configuration gives the user maximum choice”.
What about showing “A, B, and C reposted X” as a single post, at the time stamp of the most recent repost?
This way, you can freely repost high quality notes to boost visibility, but a “spammy” reposter can’t do anything beyond hacky-pinning something to the top of your feed, rather than filling up the feed entirely. And you can unfollow a user who is abusing the feature.
repost needs to boost the already existing repost display of that same note.
so you don’t create a new visual note of that same repost every single time, rather than just putting to the top of your timeline
