Amethyst doesn't censor. Amethyst will use a web of trust and auto block people that your WoT is blocking to prevent spam and scams. I believe it takes 5 or 6 blocks to trigger. You can disable this if you like to.
Users have a hard time seeing my posts using Amethyst. Some say they needed to remove the Security Filters option. other users say that turning Security Filters back on automatically blocked me on Amethyst.
Vitor said I need to delete whatever posts were made that set off the spam filter. I have no idea what Vitor considered Spam that happened months ago.
So yes, that is censorship at the app level. Vitor is literally curating peoples Nostr experience.
This is not censorship. No client is required to show their ratings. The client shows the ratings that he/she finds relevant at the time. There are other clients to be used. If you don't like Amethyst, look for another one. You can also fork Amethyst and change the filter rules.
People still have to learn to live in freedom, without a paternal state by their side.
