I love these guys and their values, and their software from the bottom of my heart.

I fundamentally agree with them, and this lack of connection from mining pools to mixers is not acceptable, as it attacks the baseline fungibility of our money.

I dislike the communication in style and their personal principle of ready, fire, aim. They've assumed intent before it was necessary.

It relies on taking the worst possible interpretation of another party as the first and most likely. While that is a solid defensive strategy, it is not necessary to do in public as first act.

This is not how you foster growth and amity in a mass movement. I accept this might be how they've achieved so much to this point, and are a bedrock/vital component of Bitcoin.

If Ocean fucked up, there's a short process that can be done to establish bad faith. When it's exhausted - you hoist the block flag and attack it.

If you don't do that basic step first - my gut reaction is that the conflict and the acrimony is what they enjoy as personal, primary motivation, not the root cause of their grievances.

This has happened time and again, and it diminishes their product overall.

It's made issues they are correct about harder to highlight, and issues in the future they are wrong about harder to defend and look to.

Said my bit, they're not wrong, but this is conflict-seeking personalities leeching into their good work. Again.

Back to work.

Must have been hard to post that mate as I know you love those guys.

Ocean have already said it's an unintended consequence (and not an attack) afaik.
