So I was looking up 'fieldrecording' on nostr and here I am:)

I've been thinking about getting a very portable fieldrecorder. Wonder if nostr has any recommendations? #asknostr #fieldrecording

I have a zoom h1 from ages ago ...somewhere, I wonder if that still works.

But it is actually quite bulky and not really an every day carry. Wonder if anyone had any recommendations for one, durability is also a factor, and obviously portability. Pocket-sized really. I do just grab stuff on my phone atm for stuff you find out and about.

So far I've seen recommendations for

-Sony pcm-a10

-Roland r07

-I've even seen some recommendations for just Sony voice recorders, which are super cheap and apparently 'alright'.

(I'm not looking for a professional fieldrecording setup obviously, just collecting sounds when I'm out and about anyway)

The Olympus lsp1 and lsp2 looks very good and very portable too. (Not sure if they're still available, even 2nd hand will have to look)

And the Roland r05 is also an option 2md hand 🤔

The size is perfect. You using external mics? I wonder what the internal mics are like, probably fine for what I need it for tbh. Just in my pocket or in my bag all the time 'just in case'.

Using internal mics and they are amazing but I bought it for Soma instrument Ether so I record line in mainly. Magnetic fields 🤯.
