The US Department of Energy going after the energy use of bitcoin mining as an “emergency” shows a clear misunderstanding of the technology. They have drawn conclusions from the start based on flawed research, and are issuing threats to an industry that has already begun adopting renewable energy sources faster than most others, not to mention the US government itself.
