So we just got back from the farmers market, and I stocked up on some amazing goats milk that I've been buying from a local there. I've heard a couple prople say that they tried goats milk, and it tasted "goaty" or something. If your goats milk tasted goaty, then whoever sold it to you did it wrong, and you should find a different supplier. Raw goats milk is the creamiest, sweetest tasting milk. It is naturally homogenized, so it freezes well, without separating. Get you some. #grownostr #localfood #goatsmilk #countrylife.

That's a good feedback.

I'm not a milk person. But if goats milk doesnt taste "goaty" why is that a bad thing?

I think people use that term simply to say that it tasted off, or just not good. Quality goats milk has no such flavors.

I find it to be breed specific. We have milked Kinders and love their clean tasting milk. It still has a different taste than cow milk, but not as barn-y

Goat’s milk also can taste “goaty” if the males are kept with the females. Happens with the milk and stays there if it is turned into cheese.

If the females are separated that aspect disappears.
