I’m worried that Bitcoin podcasts have turned into intellectual porn for me.

Porn sets unrealistic expectations for the real thing and should be avoided so you can enjoy the sweetness when you taste it. Podcasts are starting to do the same for me with conversation. I’m always disappointed when people don’t want to wax eloquent about Rothbard….like what do you mean you haven’t memorized the cypherpunk manifesto? Tell me you at least know about the difficulty adjustment!

Might be time for a break.

I’ve been feeling the same. For me I’ve noticed I’ve just developed this insatiable need to constantly be learning new things. Which is normally a good thing. But I just find myself constantly combing for new content, and ANY outlet for further intellectual stimulation and new knowledge about the technical side of transacting and security/self custody. I really need a few other Bitcoiners to hang with. I swear I’m the only person within 200 miles that has even asked the questions about what money is. Thank God for Nostr.

EXACTLY! I appreciate the hell out of Nostr, but I also don’t want to loose the ability to connect with normies. I might need to start watching football again or take up stand up paddle boarding or god forbid go back to Instagram to find out what real people are into these days.

Find some bitcoin meetups so you can nerd out about Bitcoin. When you hang with normies you have to find out what they are an expert in. Some of them have interesting stuff to tell.

My wife and I have been watching Love on The Spectrum and now she says Bitcoin and Nostr are my “special interest”. I don’t know if I feel judged or seen.
