It's a huge improvement. Mechanical things are less-efficient.

100% efficient & 100% broken without a functioning supply chain = no efficiency.

And your supply chain is held together with duct tape & bailing wire. 😂

Mechanical supply chains are often worse. Bulkier, more specific, and smaller target markets.

But I can make them...

That's the difference & why you still see so much old stuff in remote locations.

Those kickstarters on EFI bikes are worthless, when the battery for the electric start has failed is when you need them & that's when they don't work. 😂

Because the fuel pump is electric & the computer runs everything...

But it's ok, a bicycle with a pull start friction drive will get around it for now.

So it's back to the beginning of it all goes tits up. 😂😜

You've clearly never worked in manufacturing.

I have actually & I've also been in locations without access to the required electronic parts when things fail, at that point it's a paperweight.
