That's the quick, easy and high-tech way :)
There's a lot of low-tech ways to actively clear muddy water in a pinch, I read some chapters on it in this book - https://archive.org/details/engineeringineme0000davi
Its only we middle-class Westerners who don't know, by the look of things...
