not sure what you mean but i'm not doing a chatroom not using nostr and there is so many superstitions among nostr devs about DMs and privacy that there isn't a frickin working client that lets you set up a simple fucking private chat
i've got the relay part done now, can configure a chat oper and all, just the parts about handling chatrooms and shit isn't realyl quite there, i need to poke at oxtr.chat again i think maybe blowater has got it together by now

no proper desktop nostr chat client, nearest we have is coracle web app
I've heard that a desktop version of 0xChat is in the works, nostr:npub10td4yrp6cl9kmjp9x5yd7r8pm96a5j07lk5mtj2kw39qf8frpt8qm9x2wl can confirm if true. there are also multiple clients working on group chats. I plan to add DMs and private group chats to https://chachi.chat in the future.
gonna install it anyway, see what the fuss is about
