Its more like they don’t care, and its actually better for them to provide “expert” witnesses who side with them yet don’t know what they’re actually doing because it just confuses the jury and makes it more likely the jury will just agree with them because they’re the “expert” and it all seems so confusing anyway -

I agree and don't see how this necessarily contradicts my own statement. In fact, doing as you describe can backfire if the star expert witness visibly makes a fool of himself in front of the court.

This happens all the time in gun cases.
