Data ownership != censorship resistance
They look cool and it would be awesome to have a common "google drive" spec that apps could detect and use. but its not going to make censorship resistant media
For true censorship resistant media you need something like torrents. where its free and no one owns it (so everyone owns it)
also not sure how they are doing identity, but its probably tied to mastodon servers, which means if you get banned you might also loose access to your pod 😬
The data ownership aspect is something which has my personal interest the most, so sometimes I forget the censorship resistance aspect (and it's also something to solve link rot so you data will live longer on the web). Thanks for the reminder ;) I'm working on a blog post about Blossom where I will point out these.
