Any effect with Strike and Fold? Pretty sure both of those process with Prime Trust

Bitcoin Buying: Update for Texas Residents

As of January 31st, 2023, Fold be temporarily disabling bitcoin purchases on the Fold App for Texas residents.

This is because our custodial partner, Prime Trust, will be discontinuing services to Texas residents as they sort out a renewal of their Money Transmitter License (MTL). Due to this development, we unfortunately must temporarily pause Fold Bitcoin Buying for users residing in Texas.

Fold is actively working to restore services to Texas residents as soon as possible, and will keep you updated.

Curious about strike too. It would make sense if that’s the case.

Doesn’t matter to me considering I’m in AZ but it’s an interesting story to follow.

For all customers excluding residents of Texas, your bitcoin is held in custody by our financial institution partner, Prime Trust, LLC. For Texas residents, your bitcoin is held in custody by Strike. You can see your balance in the app.

So maybe TX is still good? 🤔

Pretty sure strike got out in front of this and resolved it for their customers before it became an issue for prime trust.
