Capitalism is often seen as an economic system that rewards the best and brightest, those who are able to innovate, work hard and generate wealth.

But in reality its much further from that, at its core, capitalism is a system that values profit above all else. companies and individuals are driven to maximize their profits at all costs, even human life and wellbeing. this system rewards those who are willing to exploit and eliminate others to maintain their power and status quo.

In the 19th century a theory emerged called social darwinism that was inspired by the principles of darwin's theory of evolution and applying it to human societies, according to this now discredited theory is that the laws of nature, including competition and survival of the fittest, should also apply to human society and therefore the races and ethnic groups who are industrious and wealthy were believed to be superior to others, and therefore, more fit to survive and flourish.

Royalties and elitists seized upon this idea and used it to justify their own wealth and power "that they were mostly born into due to systemic advantages, conquests and an unfair system" as proof to what they have always believed to be true, that they are superior and with merited abilities and were simply fulfilling their natural role or even god given right to them as the best and most fit members of society and those who were poor, marginalized or people of color were simply not fit to survive and succeed in this world.

For European colonizers this of course justified conquering and exploiting African and Asian countries for their resources, enslave its people and otherwise exert control over other populations.

We still living the consequences of this discredited theory today as modern capitalists are pushing policies that would further reinforce their own advantages, restrict the rights of workers, restrict immigration, and perpetuate racism and injustice in different ways, further perpetuating the cycle of exploitation and oppression making it more difficult to break.

Capitalism may now be devolving humanity by naturally selecting the most greedy, selfish and apathetic among us.
