If a relay is read-only, I guess it simplifies things. No need to delete your note from it if you can’t write to it
Discussion
no no ... one relay shows my note, but I couldn't delete it because delete.nostr.com said relay is read-only
But if the relay shows your note, doesn’t it mean your keys signed a note to that relay, so it’s not read-only? Or maybe it just doesn’t allow delete requests
read-only sounds like a misnomer
It accepts your notes, but doesn't allow deletion
That makes sense. When I tried the delete button it said that relays may or may not accept the deletion request.
By curiosity, do you know which relay refused?
relay.noswhere.com
Is that a relay for searching notes or npubs? I think I heard about this one before
Just a regular relay
I think it’s a search relay. Probably why you can’t delete from it

It's a pretty popular one but finding out that it doesn't support delete requests might prompt me to remove it. I also think more relays should honour edits. No point in editing a typo in Amethyst if the relays don't accept it.
