If you left nostr a couple years ago and thought... 'Hmm I'll pop back in in 2 years and see if they've stopped talking about the price of bitcoin, maybe they'll have more topics.' You'd probably find it's p much the same. Will it be the same in 2 more years? Can it survive that? Is this quite negative lol, maybe? ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Before anyone replies... No, following more people, and telling people 'there is no algorithm here' doesn't help.

For me, nostr’s best feature is that it connects me with good people who are willing to think and work hard to make things better for themselves and others.

I want much more than a decentralised Twitter clone.

Let not a lack of dopamine be the enemy of the good.

You could say that about eg my work group chat on WhatsApp which I have on mute. There's no algorithm, there's no dopamine hit ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/ ;) lol

To a certain extent nostr needs to face its problems (no. 1 being the bitcoin chatroom dilemma). And I think another one of them is a growing general disinterest in social media.

I look forward to a nostr forum client or other cool forms it can take tho:)

Your number two point hits home for me. Nostr is now the only social media I participate in. To your first point about bitcoin chatroom, this produces an NGU blueballs algo.
