Which client are you using?
I'm using https://coracle.social
Some clients have support via a nostr adjacent image hosting service like nostr.build but because you are already hosting the images on your site you can just paste the image link ending in .png and 99.9% of clients will render it as an image like… 
I fail to see how this is better than Mastodon
