Not ever post is worth a zap though, and I don’t think everything should be “paid” so I’m leaving my feature off for the sake of free engagement but that’s just me.

IMHO I’d rather people reply to engage then like. I am not sure what like means. Did they like the post or just ack’ed it! Not the greatest indicator. Zaps is always an option, so nothing changed here. 🐶🐾🫡
Since we have “views” or analytical data I use likes as a premise to sort of keep tabs of what I call “scrollers”
Good point. We need to invent something new here, I feel. Likes, 🤙🏻, +1 are all relics of the past that we can’t let go of. We need new and modern approach. Zap is good but costs. 🐶🐾🫡
I’ve been thinking about this for the last hr and only thing I could think of is satoshis aren’t small enough to scale for this. Eventually users will get burned out by realizing they zapped more than a twitter blue sub, or YouTube sub etc. people like free and to be incentivized but once they aren’t incentivized the loss the euphoria
Hard problem for sure. But if they get value they need to give value. Nothing is free in this world! Hard fact that will catchup with everyone eventually! 🐶🐾🫡
Either zaps catch on or it’s a bubble. All I really care about honestly is the decentralization of Nostr, same with bitcoin. One thing I don’t like about Nostr is the intrusiveness of the data and how it sticks to your profile. It’s like can I remain anonymous and keep my addresses private or does everything have to be open. Idk open one door and more doors open. Security vs privacy and necessity. This is the most open I’ve been on a platform due to my personal risk assessment towards being identifiable in any manner online.
