https://void.cat/d/3LBA9xLdCYwT2DCTMNLqpg.webp why are you creating and awarding these single letter badges without an image? Not cool.

Sigh, this is why we can't have nice things, minting badges should incur a cost, simple as!

I did say this would happen …

unfortunately that can't be enforced at the protocol level so somebody was going to make a UI for making badges without paying sooner or later. I think is fine everyone can create them, we just need better moderation in badges.page imo.

Understandable, so how would moderation work?

allowing you to mute people and adding a toggle to only show awards by ppl you follow in Awarded.

It’s better than nothing imo. But yeah someone would have abused it eventually.

Someone copied one of my badges. Same image same text, because I didn’t award them fast enough. People can be disappointing sometimes.

that is lame af. good part is that they can't steal your ideas, creativity and reputation so your badges are worth much more imo. we are showing badge author alongside badges so people can verify that it comes from a reputable source.

I think what matters most is WHO awarded the badge. People will copy infinitely and reissue as their own but no one can copy the issuer.

Also: FIRST 😤

But for me, this is honestly all in good fun, and that’s how I’d like it to stay. I have a lot of fun ideas about how bitcoin brands can utilize them in a fun, non-shitcoinery way. I’d happily pay to post one. If for no other reason than to support the project.

Stoned me uses “fun” 3 x in a sentence it seems lol

😂💜🌞

look at what #[5] folks did with badges yesterday, really cool use case imo https://stacker.news/items/149993

Exaaaaactly!! 🤩

I’m working on some content around ideas for how bitcoin brands can use these, I’ll need to include this as an example.

Who creates these badges anyway?why is this question nwver gets an answer?
