Malikie Innovations sues $BTC miners over ECC patents
Malikie Innovations, a firm that acquired 32,000 patents from @BlackBerry in 2023, has filed lawsuits against Bitcoin mining firms @MarathonDGTL and @Core_Scientific, @Cointelegraph reported. The lawsuits claim the companies are using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) methods, which Malikie asserts are covered by its patents. This follows Malikie’s acquisition of patents from BlackBerry, specifically those related to ECC technology used by the Bitcoin blockchain.
